BARNSTABLE - A Marstons Mills man is being held without bail following a mental health evaluation, after allegedly firing a high-powered air rifle at a crew trimming trees in his neighborhood Tuesday morning.

A 34-year-old man has been arrested after he allegedly fired an air rifle at tree workers in Marstons Mills, police said.

A man accused of shooting a high-powered air rifle at tree workers and into a house was arrested in the Marstons Mills section of Barnstable, Massachusetts, on New Year’s Eve. Barnstable Police say it started Tuesday morning when they received a call reporting a bullet hole in a window at a home on Tanbark Road.

A Massachusetts man used a high-powered airgun to shoot at tree workers, police said. Officers responded Dec. 31 to reports of a bullet hole in a home in Marstons Mills, according to a Jan. 1 news release from the Barnstable Police Department.
