Police continued to search a Macomb County landfill on Friday as they await test results on what they call "lookalike items" to determine if they are connected to the case.

It's been 15 days now since Ashley Elkins of Warren disappeared and five days since investigators started searching Pine Tree Acres landfill in Lenox Township.

Officials expect to make a decision soon on whether additional charges will be filed in the case of Ashley Elkins.

Crews will continue to dig through trash at a Macomb County landfill on Wednesday as they seek any clues that can help investigators figure out what happened to Ashley Elkins. The mother of two from Warren has been missing for almost two weeks.

Police are searching the Lenox Township landfill for the remains of Ashley Elkins. Elkins, 30, disappeared on Jan. 2 while running errands. Her ex-boyfriend, De'Andre Booker, was charged in connection to her disappearance.

Roseville police said the search for Ashley Elkins at Pine Tree Acres landfill has been very methodical and continues to be.

The search at the Lenox Township landfill for missing Warren mother Ashley Elkins has now lasted four days and family members say they're grateful for how police have been keeping them in the loop.

The search continued on the fifth day at a landfill for 30-year-old Ashley Elkins. The Michigan mother was reported missing on Jan. 3 after she was last seen on Jan. 2. Police began searching a landfill in Macomb County earlier this week.
