Universities have warned action will be taken against any students found to be involved in a fireworks "war" in Nottingham. Emergency services went to Midland Way in Radford at about 22:20 GMT on Tuesday, after it was reported fireworks had been launched at surrounding buildings, parked vehicles and people.

There were scenes of chaos in east Manchester on Tuesday night (November 5) as police were pelted with fireworks by a huge group of youths in the street. A large mob of between 20 to 30 teenagers are understood to have built a 'barricade' on Vine Street, in Gorton, with wooden pallets and mattresses.

Police Scotland said ‘officers in Edinburgh responded to various incidents of youth disorder in Niddrie, Sighthill and Moredun’. Lothian Buses withdrew several services across the city due to the antisocial behaviour.

Large crowds are expected to gather on the sea front of the Isle of Man's capital for a bonfire night fireworks display themed with "music from movies". Douglas Council will start the event at19:00 GMT, with the celebrations on Harris Promenade focused around the area of the war memorial.
