Mountain Fire burns 14,000 acres, destroys homes as flames whip through Somis, Camarillo
A wildfire started in the Somis area on Wednesday morning and tore through 22 square miles by the evening, destroying dozens of homes, sending residents to the hospital and forcing evacuations in Ventura, Camarillo, Santa Paula, Fillmore and points in between.

Mountain Fire initially started 9:41 a.m. Nov. 6 in Ventura County. After being active for 16 hours, it has burned 1,500 acres. At this time, details about the containment of the fire are unknown.
