A local developer is making a big bet on the future of downtown Honolulu, with the purchase of the Topa Financial Center -- two landmark Bishop Street office buildings.

Avalon CEO Christine Camp is already sketching out the plans to “reimagine” the two towers, which have a total of 420,267 square feet of space and 907 parking stalls.

This is the Honolulu development firm’s fourth acquisition in two years in the downtown area. It’s part of Avalon’s 8-project plan to help “actualize the reimagination of DoHo Downtown Honolulu.
