Gov. Kathy Hochul is moving forward with a plan to "unpause" congestion pricing by the end of the year, sources say. CBS News New York's Marcia Kramer reports.

Months after postponing a congestion pricing plan in New York City, the governor is reportedly exploring options to revive it.

New York is running short on time to implement congestion pricing in Manhattan after the election of Donald Trump, who opposes the novel tolling initiative.

In 2019, state lawmakers approved a congestion pricing program to charge drivers who enter Manhattan south of 60th Street. The program was scheduled to launch on June 30, but Hochul paused it on June 5. She said the cost was too high given economic inflation, adding that the tolls imperiled Manhattan’s post-pandemic recovery.

Opponents of congestion pricing are railing against Gov. Hochul's plan to revive the controversial first-in-the-nation "congestion" pricing toll to enter Manhattan's business district -- before President -elect Donald Trump takes office on January 20.
