CHICAGO (CBS) -- A heated race has emerged for Cook County State's Attorney, with the seat open for the first time in 16 years. Sitting Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx, a Democrat, announced in April 2023 that she would not run for reelection.

While most of the action surrounding the Cook County judicial races occurred during the Democratic primary election in March, Election Day brought decisions on whether dozens of judges will continue serving on the bench.
