General Motors Co. is ending production of the gas-powered Cadillac XT4 small SUV in January 2025, the automaker confirmed Thursday. The XT4 is built at GM's Fairfax Assembly plant in Kansas, where production of the Chevrolet Malibu sedan is ending this month.

GM is investing $390 million at its Kansas assembly plant to build next-generation Chevrolet Bolt EVs. GM plans to end production of its Chevrolet Malibu in the coming weeks. GM had said in May that when it resumed production in 2025 in Kansas it would build both the Bolt EV and XT4 on the same assembly line but now will only build Bolt vehicles.

The Cadillac XT4 will cease production permanently in January at the GM Fairfax Assembly plant, which will be retooled for the next-generation Chevy Bolt EV.

Cadillac will end production of the XT4 SUV at its Fairfax, Kanas, plant in January. The site, which also loses the Chevy Malibu this month, will build the new Bolt EV next year. XT4 sales are down in 2024 and the SUV lost its base model for 2025.
