Nebraska and Maine split their electoral votes. Here's how it worked
Forty-eight states and Washington, D.C., award all their presidential electoral votes to the candidate who wins statewide. Then there's Nebraska and Maine. Both states split their electoral votes between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 election using rules that set them apart from the rest of the country.
Trump wins 4 out of 5 of Nebraska’s electoral votes
Former President Trump is projected to win four out of five of Nebraska’s electoral votes, according to a projection from Decision Desk HQ. Nebraska is one of two states that does not use a winner-take-all system for awarding its electoral votes.
