By Danielle Broadway LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - "Shogun," FX's historical epic set in imperial Japan, claimed the prestigious best ensemble in a drama TV series award at Sunday's Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony.

The Hulu series, which debuted in 2021, follows three unlikely friends — played by Selena Gomez, Steve Martin and Short, 74 — who form a friendship over their love of true crime. The group ends up solving various murder mysteries connected to their New York City apartment building, the Arconia, which has led to many celebrity cameos over the years.

On Sunday, Feb. 23, Martin Short won the award for his performance as Oliver Putnam in Only Murders in the Building at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. This year marked Short's third individual SAG Award nod for Only Murders, and first win.

While the actor picked up a statue for 'Only Murders in the Building,' he was not in the building to accept it.

Short, an Emmy and Tony winner, was not on hand to receive his first SAG Award at the Los Angeles ceremony. His rep said that Short “was not able to attend due to Covid” and shared a statement form him.
