Barcelona took the lead in La Liga with a hard-fought and tight win over Rayo Vallecano last weekend. They experienced an equally challenging and worthy opponent last night in Las Palmas as they took to the field at Gran Canaria.

Barcelona continued their strong form in La Liga and remain ahead of Atlético Madrid and Real Madrid in the title race.

Barça have ensured they stay top of the La Liga for at least another week with a 2-0 victory in the Canary Islands. The pressure was on after a 3-0 win at Valencia had moved Atlético Madrid into pole position, but the Catalans got their part of the job done thanks to goals from Dani Olmo and Ferran Torres.

Dani Olmo scored his first goal since November as Barcelona went top of La Liga with victory at Las Palmas. The substitute latched on to Lamine Yamal's 62nd-minute pass and saw his shot bounce off the crossbar before dropping into the net.
