Governor Mike DeWine has nominated former OSU football coach and YSU President Jim Tressel to be Lieutenant Governor, taking the place of now U.S. Senator Jon Husted, completing the remaining 2 years of the term.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine on Monday nominated former Ohio State Buckeyes football coach Jim Tressel to be the state's next lieutenant governor, praising him as a seasoned educator and leader with the skills to take the state's helm if need be.

Former Ohio State football coach Jim Tressel, who also served as president of Youngstown State University, has been nominated as lieutenant governor in Ohio.
