After an atrocious 2023-24 season, the Wolverines fired head coach Juwan Howard and hired former FAU coach Dusty May. Having inherited a combination of freshman recruits and transfer-portal pulls, May's biggest challenge this season will be figuring out the strengths and weaknesses of each player and crafting a unified team.

Dusty May's Michigan basketball coaching debut was a success as the Wolverines hammered Cleveland State, 101-53, on Monday at Crisler Center.

Expectations for the Dusty May era were through the roof, and somehow, the new Michigan basketball head coach exceeded them. Sure, the first game was against Cleveland State, but the Wolverines were fast, scoring machines, and pesky on the defensive side of the court.
