GDOT snow plows were on the road pretreating roads with brine. A GDOT spokesperson says road conditions have begun to deteriorate as the winter storm moves through quicker than expected.

Both Emory University Hospital and American Medical Response say they really started preparing for this storm a week ago, making sure they have the people and resources ready to respond — even knowing how tough conditions can get.

Check your heating system and furnace, ensure it's functioning properly. Seal drafts around windows and doors.
