Iditarod Trail Dog Sled Race is longer than ever before due to a lack of snow. This year's race, which has 33 mushers taking part, will last a record distance of 1,128 miles across Alaska.

"The Last Great Race on Earth" takes place in Alaska each March, as mushers and teams of 12-14 dogs race through the wilderness from Anchorage to Nome. To log a qualifying time, a musher needs at least five dogs pulling the sled across the finish line.

The mushers will bring their Badger State connections to Alaska for the famous sled dog race that kicks off on March 3.
