The Cincinnati Bengals made official Tuesday the release of linebacker Germaine Pratt, who had been with the team since being drafted in 2019 and was one of the longest-tenured players in Cincinnati.

Cincinnati Bengals star edge rusher Trey Hendrickson is not showing up for mandatory minicamp as he seeks a new deal.

Al Golden met with the media on Wednesday and addressed how the defense is adjusting to installing a new system without Trey Hendrickson and Shemar Stewart. Both players are working through contract issues—signed and unsigned—with the Bengals.

The Bengals are on the hunt for help at pass-rusher behind and with Trey Hendrickson. Joseph Ossai, back on a new deal, is expected to take a leap. So is former first-rounder Myles Murphy. Sample and Johnson solidifying their roles as versatile guys who can kick inside would be a boon, especially before training camp even starts.

It's early June in the NFL. An established veteran star missing a few days of minicamp isn't really that big of a deal. But it might be a big deal when they're staying away looking for a new contract.
