Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders has won reelection to a fourth six-year term. The 83-year-old independent senator is a self-described democratic socialist who caucuses with the Democrats and twice came close to winning the presidential nomination.

U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders secured his fourth term in a victory against Republican Gerald Malloy. The incumbent will serve though his 89th birthday.
