It wasn’t necessarily Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final, but the first matchup between the Florida Panthers and the Edmonton Oilers at Amerant Bank Arena since Florida hoisted the Cup eight months ago had its share of intense moments.
SUNRISE -- Anton Lundell had a goal and two assists for the Florida Panthers, who scored twice in the third period to defeat the Edmonton Oilers 4-3 at Amerant Bank Arena on Thursday in a rematch of the 2024 Stanley Cup Final.

Their lead would again be short lived though, as Leon Draisaitl jumped on a neutral zone turnover before beating Bobrovsky with a sneaky backhand, sending the game to the third period deadlocked at two. For the third time Thursday, the Panthers took a lead over Edmonton.
The Edmonton Oilers were back at Amerant Bank Arena Thursday for the first time since they lost to the Florida Panthers in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final back on June 24. There was nothing, really, on the line Thursday — but the game was almost as tight.
