An Atlanta woman has been convicted of defrauding FEMA and a Georgia-based litigation funding company in schemes tied to Hurricane Maria relief efforts, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Northern District of Georgia.

As part of the disaster assistance process done by FEMA, proper documentation for both ownership and occupancy of damaged residences is needed.
