Mark Scheifele also scored, and Gabriel Vilardi had two assists for the Jets (35-14-3), who are 8-2-1 in their past 11 games. Connor Hellebuyck made 24 saves.

Hellebuyck stopped 24 of 25 shots in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Canadiens. Hellebuyck was caught flat-footed by Juraj Slafkovsky midway through the first period then shut the door. He kicked off Winnipeg's three-game road trip with his third consecutive win and seventh in the last eight starts.

Hellebucyk is expected to tend the road twine versus the Canadiens on Tuesday, according to Ken Wiebe of The Winnipeg Free Press.
