The Marquette men's basketball team has moved up in the first polls of 2025. The Golden Eagles checked in at No. 7 in the Associated Press top 25 that was released Monday, up one spot from last week. MU (13-2, 4-0 Big East) is sixth in the USA TODAY coaches poll.

By redshirting, Marquette junior guard Sean Jones will have two full seasons of eligibility remaining for the Golden Eagles.

Chase Ross picked the right game to have his best scoring performance for the Marquette men's basketball team. With the Golden Eagles' top offensive threats having inefficient nights, Ross poured in a career-high 27 points in a 74-66 victory over a frisky Georgetown squad on Tuesday night at Fiserv Forum.
