The Lake County Coroner’s Office said investigators suspect foul play in the death of Nelson Daniel Ramos-Rivas.

As President Donald Trump floats grand ideas like reacquiring the Panama Canal and taking over Greenland, some rural residents of Illinois and Oregon are promoting geopolitical change of their own: They want to break away from their states, and perhaps unite with Indiana and Idaho.

INDIANAPOLIS — Yarden Garzon scored 18 points and Shay Ciezki had 17 as ninth-seeded Indiana topped eighth-seeded Oregon 78-62 on Thursday in the second round of the Big Ten Tournament. The Hoosiers advance to Friday's quarterfinals against second-ranked and top-seeded USC. The Trojans won 73-66 at Indiana on Jan. 19.

The win also gives Indiana the chance for a real statement win with a USC rematch scheduled for Friday afternoon. The Hoosiers will be heavy underdogs, with Bart Torvik giving them just a 13% chance of victory and favoring the Trojans by more than 11 points.

Indiana women’s basketball coach Teri Moren had to go much deeper into her bench than normal with Yardon Garzon, Karoline Striplin and Lilly Mester all getting into foul trouble. It started when they each picked up a third foul within minutes of each other in the second quarter.
