There is hope that the Panthers will get defenseman Aaron Ekblad back in the lineup at some point while they're out west. Ekblad has been battling an undisclosed injury and missed each of Florida's past five games.

Ekblad did not travel and will not play in either game of Florida’s games against the Flyers on Monday and Devils on Tuesday.

Sam Reinhart and Eetu Luostarinen each had a goal for the reigning Stanley Cup champions. Matthew Tkachuk finished with two assists, and Sergei Bobrovsky made 26 saves.

The Ducks will face the Florida Panthers again in the first home game of three before they head back on the road. The Ducks are coming off a 3-0 loss to the Panthers on Jan. 18. The Panthers have also not played since that 3-0 victory over the Ducks.

The Anaheim Ducks wrapped up a disappointing road trip with a matchup, the first game of a home-and-home series, against the defending Stanley Cup Champion Florida Panthers. The Ducks were coming off a 4-3 shootout loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday, which brought their point tally to three on their season-long six-game road trip.

The Florida Panthers are currently fighting for the top spot in the Atlantic Division. They sit second in the division, trailing the Toronto Maple Leafs by three points with a record of 26-17-3.

They take on Florida at home Tuesday night after being shut out by the Panthers on Saturday to cap a frustrating six-game road trip.

Winning the Stanley Cup hasn’t been a burden to the Panthers. They’re sitting near the top of the Eastern Conference near the mid-season and having the regular season they wanted.
