State officials have awarded more than $2 million in federal funding to help local police departments and state agencies prevent firearm deaths and injuries across Massachusetts.

Kristian Avery, 46, of Windsor, allegedly broke into the town’s firehouse, attempted to start a fire there and stole a pickup truck early Saturday morning.
