“Happy Gilmore 2” has the official Taylor Swift stamp of approval. Swift shared a glowing review of the “Happy Gilmore” sequel to her Instagram story July 25. The “Cruel Summer” posted the movie's poster alongside a short message about the film, which included an appearance from her boyfriend, Travis Kelce.
However, the critics score is shocking when compared to the original film, Happy Gilmore, which registered a 63% mark (36 fresh to 21 rotten). Safe to say, that left some people stunned. "How is Rotten Tomatoes critics score for Happy Gilmore 2 higher than the original?" Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy asked.
It feels like "Happy Gilmore's" 30th high-school reunion. But it also testifies to the timelessness of Sandler's Jerry-Lewis-meets-punk-rock rage.
Happy Gilmore 2 finds Adam Sandler and pretty much everyone else reprising their roles from the original in a kinder, older film.
