Colorado Safeway employees began a limited strike at stores in Estes Park, Fountain, Pueblo, and a Denver distribution center Sunday after contract negotiations with Albertsons stalled.

Pueblo and Pueblo West Safeway workers have joined a United Food and Commercial Workers Local 7 strike seeking better pay, staffing and benefits.

On Sunday, some Safeway employees formed picket lines to fight what they say are unfair labor practices. Strikes happened at stores in Fountain, Pueblo, Estes Park and a distribution center in Denver.
