Another round of winter storms is set to move into the area this weekend. The National Weather Service’s forecast calls for partly sunny skies on Friday. Highs will top out in the mid 20s with light breezes calming later tonight as lows dip to around 20.

Overnight, the first round of freezing rain in Northeast Ohio in two years glazed cars, roads, trees, power lines and more with one- to two-tenths of an inch of ice, creating a chaotic commute.

National Weather Service warns of hazardous travel conditions as ice accumulates on roads and sidewalks overnight.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for all of northern Ohio starting Wednesday night through Thursday morning. Freezing rain is expected across the region with some accumulation of ice expected overnight until temperatures rise above freezing on Thursday morning.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY from Wednesday evening through early Thursday morning. Freezing rain and sleet may create icy, hazardous conditions during the night. Use extreme caution while driving; many outdoor surfaces may become slippery, increasing the risk of falling and injury. Isolated power outages may be possible.

The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh says a widespread winter storm could drop ice and freezing rain across eastern Ohio late Wednesday.
