Israel's retaliatory offensive has killed over 52,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, according to the Health Ministry, which does not say how many of the dead were fighters or civilians. KHAN YUNIS, Gaza Strip — For nearly 60 days, no food, fuel, medicine or other item has entered the Gaza Strip, blocked by Israel. Aid groups are running out of food to distribute. Markets are nearly bare. Palestinian families are left struggling to feed their children.

The United Nations criticized Israel for its ban on aid in hearings at the International Court of Justice. Israel did not send a legal delegation and rejected the proceedings as biased.
