Wilson is coming off a season where he had to battle for the starting QB spot with Justin Fields on the Pittsburgh Steelers. He ended up taking over the role for the back half of the 2024 campaign, posting a 6-5 record in 11 starts. Now with the Giants, Willson will serve as a short-term solution at QB while Dart waits to take the reigns.

The New York Giants altered some of their practice drills to help players on both sides of the ball after a suggestion from Russell Wilson.

Slayton, a downfield threat entering his seventh with the Giants, stands to benefit from the addition of Wilson, whose deep ball remains his go-to. Wilson has already demonstrated a propensity to throw down the field, even on concepts when an underneath receiver is the primary read, Slayton said.
