CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Wednesday marks exactly one week since 67 people were killed in a collision between an American Airlines passenger jet and an Army helicopter at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport near Washington, D.C.

Tributes are pouring in for Ian Epstein, one of the flight attendants who died when an American Airlines plane collided with a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter in Washington, D.C.

As one nation, we grieve for every precious soul that has been taken from us so suddenly,” Trump said at a press briefing Thursday. “Sadly, there are no survivors."

A flight attendant who was killed in the midair collision last week near the nation’s capital was set to be remembered for his devotion to family and passion for travel on Wednesday, as Ian Epstein's family and others start to hold memorials for loved ones who were among the 67 victims in the deadliest U.

Those who knew him spoke of his cheerful attitude and the way he made everyone feel special.
