CONFLICT ENTERS FOURTH DAY: Israel and Iran have begun a new round of attacks, as the conflict between the two heavily armed rivals enters its fourth day.

Israel forces have repeatedly hit Iran’s defenses. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday that Israel had worked to “peel off the layers of protection” of Iranian defenses.
The president had opposed Israeli action against Iran but came to believe that Israel had reason to act and that the U.S. would have to lend some support.
The Iron Dome is designed to protect Israeli citizens by launching guided missiles to intercept incoming rockets and other short-range threats in mid-air.
Israel identified and struck missile launchers in Iran overnight, the Israel Defense Forces said Sunday morning. "Over the past hour, the IAF completed an additional series of strikes on storage and missile launch infrastructure sties in western Iran," the IDF said in an update on the Telegram messaging app at about 8 a.m. in Israel.
The Israeli military said that its air force has struck a number of command centers of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. It said that the command centers, which were in Tehran, were used to direct proxy groups to launch attacks against Israel.
