Rising star Mirra Andreeva became the youngest ever player to claim a WTA 1000 title on Saturday when she defeated Clara Tauson to win the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships.

No. 12 seed Mirra Andreeva became the youngest WTA 1000 champion since the format began in 2009 after defeating Clara Tauson on Saturday in the final of the Dubai Tennis Championships. Andreeva, who is 17 years and 299 days old, recorded six aces to post a 7-6 (1), 6-1 win over the Denmark native in one hour, 46 minutes.
