Pepperdine University is suing Netflix and Warner Bros., alleging the studios infringed on multiple trademarks with the fictional Waves basketball team in the new Mindy Kaling series 'Running Point.'

Pepperdine says "Running Point," a Netflix comedy show starring Kate Hudson, stole the name and colors of its NCAA basketball team.

The lawsuit claims the show promotes themes that don’t correspond to the university’s values, including alcohol and substance use, sexual innuendo and imagery, and foul language.
