'I got what I asked for': Preston Smith requested a trade from the Packers a few weeks ago
"A few weeks ago, I requested a trade," Smith told Pittsburgh media on Wednesday, a day after the Packers sent him to the Steelers for a seventh-round pick. "I got what I asked for." Playing time for Smith, who turns 32 on Nov. 17, has decreased this season. And he wasn't too fond of playing in new coordinator Jeff Hafley's 4-3 scheme.
