Timothée Chalamet stopped by a lookalike competition inspired by his movie characters in New York City on Oct. 27, posing for photos with fans before police arrived and ordered attendees to disperse.

A sea of people who resemble Oscar-nominated actor Timothée Chalamet, or think they do, showed up at New York’s Washington Square Park Sunday for a chance at winning $50 and bragging rights in a Timothée Chalamet look-alike contest. Then the real Chalamet made an appearance.

Over the past week, posters began to appear in New York City advertising a Timothée Chalamet lookalike competition. Featuring an understated design, a picture of the Academy Award nominated actor, and a promise of a $50 prize for the most convincing doppelganger, the event received some a raft of attention online.
