Cops arrested the apparent driver, a then 17-year-old named Carlos D. Martinez, and charged him with multiple felonies, including two counts of aggravated manslaughter and drunken driving. The Toms River resident is now 18.
In the now widely circulated video, the Porsche is seen rapidly gaining on the slower-moving, British-registered BMW in a narrow section of the track. As the Porsche attempts to overtake on a slight curve, the BMW appears to shift across its path, triggering a violent collision.
