Washington Capitals goaltender Logan Thompson was a bit preoccupied during a play in which Edmonton Oilers forward Corey Perry scored a goal in Tuesday's game. At the 4:50 mark of the second period, the Oilers were bringing the puck into the offensive zone when a tray of nachos was thrown onto the ice by a fan.

A tray of cheesy nachos flew from the stands and onto the ice, distracting Logan Thompson from stopping a shot during a narrow victory over the Edmonton Oilers, the Washington Capitals goalie said.

Klingberg will either be a brilliant addition for the Oilers or a quick audition that will be forgotten by fall.

The Edmonton Oilers have already made a key signing to bolster their back end, signing veteran Swedish defenseman John Klingberg to a one-year, pro-rated contract for the remainder of the 2024-25 NHL season.
