Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced legislation on Wednesday banning smartphones and related technology from every Arkansas public school.

The new legislation, the Bell to Bell, No Cell Act, aims to prohibit personal electronic devices, including cell phones and smartwatches, in all public schools.

Sanders' school cell phone ban comes at a time when the relationship between the GOP and the tech industry is fast shifting.
