Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) troopers are partnering with U.S. immigration officials as the state aims to help federal authorities as much as it can.

Gov. Ron DeSantis held a briefing in Tallahassee on Friday morning to announce a new agreement with the federal government on illegal immigration that he said will expedite the removal of people who are unlawfully living in Florida.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said he has signed an agreement with President Trump to help tackle immigration enforcement in Florida and the U.S. Under the agreement between FHP and DHS, FHP state troopers will be allowed to up with federal immigration enforcement and efforts.
