A new winter storm will bring rain and some of the coldest temperatures of the season to the southeastern United States, including much of Florida.

A cold front moving through South Florida during the day Saturday will bring a quick moving line of showers through the area. Behind the front, cooler and drier air will fill back into the area by the afternoon and evening hours.

What Florida drivers aren’t accustomed to is driving in cold weather. With a cold front forecast to bring not only subfreezing temperatures but the chance of snow and freezing rain, now is the time to learn.

The Florida Panhandle could see a brief period of snow or ice next week, if the right conditions combine. Bottom line: Cold temps coming.
