Hurricane Rafael has strengthened into a Category 3 storm as it approaches the western coast of Cuba, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Rafael brought hurricane-force winds and nearly a foot of rain to western Cuba. The hurricane will continue a rather abrupt westward turn and continue for the next 4-5 days. However, ensemble members show a potential scenario of a major hurricane tracking west/southwest into Mexico in the 5-7 day timeframe.
