Storms brought torrential rain to the Lehigh Valley on Monday, causing flash flooding. Flooded roadways were a common site around the region, but the Upper Saucon Township area appeared to see the worst of it. The area of Route 309 at Hopewell Road, near Saucon Creek, was particularly hard hit.

Center Valley and Coopersburg were hardest hit with water rescues reported and the Emmaus community pool closed until further notice due to flooding damage.

Slow-moving storms could bring up to 11 inches of rain, raising the risk of flash floods on Sunday, particularly in Illinois and Indiana, forecasters said.
