As the inauguration of Donald Trump looms, many residents of the District of Columbia are anxious about how members of the Metropolitan Police Department will ensure that the incoming president is safe.

More than half a dozen local D.C.-area police departments will not be assisting Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) with security for the 2025 Presidential Inauguration, the Daily Caller has learned.

Police in Washington on Wdnesday said they have upped security measures after the New Year’s attacks in Las Vegas and New Orleans. “While there is no known threat to the District of Columbia, out of an abundance of caution,
