After a battle in Russia's snowy western region of Kursk this week, Ukrainian special forces scoured the bodies of more than a dozen slain North Korean enemy soldiers. Among them, they found one still alive.

North Korean troops have been deployed to bolster Russian forces in the Kursk border region with Ukraine, where they are gaining battlefield experience despite initial heavy losses.

The South Korean intelligence service has released further reports about North Korea's involvement in the war in Ukraine. According to these reports, North Korean soldiers fighting in the Kursk region have been instructed to commit suicide if captured by Ukrainian forces.

North Korean soldiers sent to bolster Russia’s forces are resorting to extreme measures. One recently detonated a grenade and blew himself up to avoid getting captured by Ukrainian troops.
