Strong earthquakes in Vanuatu have led to a Level 3 travel advisory urging US citizens to reconsider plans to visit the region.

Vanuatu's government has declared a state of emergency and imposed a curfew from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. for seven days in the worst-affected areas, including Port Vila. The curfew is set to expire Dec. 28. Americans were also given a further warning.

Reconsider Travel warning for the destination which still welcomes Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Norwegian, and MSC ships daily.

All 31 Mexican states as well as Mexico City are under some sort of travel advisory from the State Department; six of them are labelled as 'Do Not Travel'

That tax, which the cruise lines heavily oppose, was supposed to be implemented in January and has been deferred for six months. In most cases, cruise ports work with the cruise lines when it comes to implementing fees.
