The Spokane Police Department arrested 11 people during Saturday’s “No Kings Day” protest after another intense, and at times aggressive, demonstration last Wednesday. SPD posted a timeline on Monday of “what began as a peaceful protest” in the Riverfront Park but later devolved into civil unrest.

Eleven people were arrested during the “No Kings” protest that followed Spokane Pride on Saturday night. A Spokane Police Department news release said the protest began as a peaceful event with the department’s Tactical Team communicating with protest organizers to ensure safety.

Arrests were almost exclusively for charges of failure to obey a lawful order, Denver police said, but some included interference with police authority, unlawful throwing of projectiles, and obstruction of streets.
