Several areas in or near mountains across Southern California are labeled as under consideration for public safety power shutoffs, including portions of Yucaipa, Hemet, Riverside and San Bernardino. About 53,000 people already had their power shut off Thursday afternoon, while about 206,000 more live in areas where shutoffs are under consideration.
