As Mathys Tel joins Tottenham on a six-year contract, Thomas Frank owes Ange Postecoglou a debt of gratitude. Speaking back in February, the Australian assured Tottenham fans that the Sarcelles-born prodigy was not just joining Spurs on a temporary basis.
Tel was originally signed on loan in January, with a view to a permanent deal under former boss Ange Postecoglou. Frank is said to have given the deal his approval, with Spurs making the move permanent, as Postecoglou had intended. Tel made 20 appearances in all competitions for Spurs in 2024-25, scoring three goals and registering one assist.
Tottenham Hotspur have announced the signing of Mathys Tel on a permanent transfer from Bayern Munich following a successful loan spell.
