As she continues her return to public life, Kate Middleton joked “I seem to have lost my family!” after she fell behind Prince William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis on the royal family’s traditional Christmas Day walkabout.

George, 11, Charlotte, 9, and Louis, 6, walked alongside their parents Prince William and Kate, the Princess of Wales, as members of Britain's royal family made their way into St. Mary Magdalene Church for their traditional Christmas Day service.

Prince William and Kate Middleton are skipping the annual royal family pre-Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace today. A palace source told The Times UK that the Prince and Princess of Wales are already in Norfolk for the start of the holidays.

In addition to Charles and Camilla and William and Kate and their children, other royal family members who celebrate Christmas at Sandringham include Charles's sister, Princess Anne, and youngest brother Prince Edward, and their spouses, children and in the case of Anne, grandchildren.

Christmas day isn't complete until the Wales family has made their annual walk to St. Mary Magdalene Church on the merry morning. And on Wednesday Kate Middleton, Prince William, and their kids officially touched down on the Sandringham path to greet droves of well-wishers along with the rest of the royal family.

Kate publicly announced her diagnosis in March, months after a scheduled abdominal procedure uncovered the presence of cancerous cells. As she withdrew from her normal schedule of royal engagements, Kate’s parents–Carole and Michael Middleton–stepped in to help her with her kids,

Kate Middleton spent much of 2024 battling cancer. In September, she thankfully announced that she is “cancer-free.” And so on Christmas Day, Kate shared her appreciation for the gift of life and said that she’s “hugely grateful” after her cancer battle.

After sharing news of her cancer diagnosis in March, Princess Kate retreated from the spotlight for the majority of 2024. In September, she announced that she'd completed chemotherapy and would be making a slow return to her official royal duties.
